Happy 2026 everyone! Every year, once the new year begins, no matter what major students are applying for, we always get the same questions from students and parents:

“Is it too late to start now?”
“Is starting earlier always better for portfolios?”
“How should we plan the timeline for UK, US, and Singapore art schools?”

The answer is actually very simple:
Art applications are not about speed — they’re about strategy.

Today, we’ve put together a clear and realistic application timeline for ‘27 Fall Intake.
For students considering UK, US or Singapore art universities, if you’re thinking about applying this year, it’s time to get moving!

2026|Portfolio & Application Preparation Phase

January
✔️ Finalise target countries & intended major
✔️ Start your portfolio early (time = quality)

February – August
✔️ Develop 3–4 complete portfolio projects
✔️ Research school styles & portfolio requirements in parallel

September
✔️ Organise portfolio according to country / school requirements
✔️ Draft personal statements & written components

October
✔️ Prepare application materials
(academic transcripts / language tests / recommendation letters)

November – December
✔️ Submit UK & US Early Decision / Early Action applications
✔️ Begin preparing for US Regular Decision (RD)

2027|Applications & Offers

January – February
✔️ Submit US RD applications
✔️ Start Singapore applications

March – April
✔️ Complete Singapore applications
✔️ Wait for offers

April – May
✔️ Confirm school choice
✔️ Pay enrollment deposit

June – August
✔️ Apply for student visa
✔️ Arrange accommodation & submit final results

Art applications are never a last-minute sprint.
